Our Mission
We provide primary education for children from underprivileged families in Burkina Faso.
Sababu is a free, private and state-approved primary school with more than 650 pupils.
Why we do it?

Who Is Sababu?
We are a balafon musician from Burkina Faso and a great bunch of helpers from Austria and around the world.
And we are also all those children eager to learn how to read, write and graduate from school.

With your help we want to keep the primary school running and also reach our next ambitious goals. Sababu is growing to become a regular high school! We are currently working on:
- Constructing a new school building by the end of 2020.
- Opening all 7 additional grades necessary to graduate from high school.
- Hiring 10+ new teachers and staff to run the school at the highest possible standards.
Percussion Workshop
If you haven't tried the west african djembes it is about time!
Beat the drums with Mamadou Diabaté and support Sababu.
- This workshop is great for schools*.
- Useful for team building activities.
- Quite a stunner as a gift for a festive occasion.
- 90 % of all money raised goes directly to the school's cash register.
* For school workshops we need at least 150 children (approx. 6 classes). Costs: 5,50 € per child + transport.
Our Accomplishments
We are so proud of these achievements!
- We could teach 650 pupils in 6 grades in 2017/2018
- We had 72 primary school graduates in 2018
- We hire 12 teachers for the daily 7 lessons
- We are starting our 9th academic year
